A REST API that opens up OneCloud

On April 27, 2019, OneCloud launched a REST API so our customers and partners can now embed OneCloud into their solution and solve some pretty thorny integration and automation challenges. By offering an API, the OneCloud platform is now “officially” open for third parties to embed flexible, code-free and intuitive integration and automation of a wide range of complex technologies, into their own applications. These technologies include:

Anaplan, BlackLine, Host Analytics, Oracle Essbase, Oracle HFM, Oracle EPM Cloud, Workiva, and Tableau in combination with systems of record such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, and relational technologies.

As an example, the new API will allow for a seamless integration so an accountant or an FP&A professional will be able to load financial general ledger data or bank balances in an intuitive way, without having to leave the application they primarily operate in. Not only does this create a much more user-friendly experience, it also reduces manual tasks, human error, and makes the monthly reporting and financials cycle auditable, repeatable and maintainable, across all the applications that support the modern finance organization.

As a point of reference, the new OneCloud REST API adds the sixth method to interface with the OneCloud platform. The other options include:

  • Self-service (via the OneCloud web interface)
  • Scheduler (via the OneCloud web interface)
  • Secure ActionLinks (enable OneCloud to be invoked from interfaces such as an Anaplan dashboard)
  • File Triggers (OneCloud responds to changes to on-prem files)
  • Anaplan Export Action Triggers (enable OneCloud to respond to data updates in Anaplan)

So, if you are looking to build a fully embedded solution to connect & automate applications used in the Office of the CFO, then take a look at the OneCloud platform. It is easy to spin up your own free trial, access the OneCloud REST API and accelerate your digital finance transformation journey.
